Founder of Twin Cities ADHD
Hi there!
I'm Paige Kirkanson.
I'm a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and ADHD Specialist with deep expertise in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate the challenges of ADHD and everyday life. I combine clinical training, real-world experience, and a personal understanding of ADHD to offer both therapy and coaching that is grounded, practical, and effective.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked across a wide range of settings and roles—but my passion has always remained the same: helping people feel understood and empowered. I specialize in supporting individuals who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or out of sync with the world around them—particularly those navigating the unique impact of ADHD on their relationships, careers, and sense of self.
I earned dual degrees in Political Science and Global Studies from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, and completed my Master’s in Social Work at Augsburg University in 2019. Since then, I’ve continued to grow my clinical knowledge through evidence-based training and over 20 years of experience working with children, adults, families, and couples.
My passion for working with individuals who struggle with attention and executive functioning comes from both professional expertise and lived experience. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a child—at a time when the diagnosis was poorly understood and often dismissed. I spent much of my life being labeled as loud, disruptive, inattentive, or "too much." I often felt like I was moving through systems that weren’t designed for my brain—and I know how discouraging and isolating that can feel.
Over the years, I’ve experienced job losses, financial struggles, and moments of burnout—wondering, “Is this the best I can do?” Now I understand how common these feelings are for people with ADHD, and how much more empowered we feel when we realize there’s a reason behind the struggle—and a path forward.
Becoming a mother to two daughters brought a whole new layer of challenge. It forced me to reevaluate everything I thought I knew and pushed me to grow in ways I never expected. It also deepened my commitment to helping others feel supported, understood, and capable—even when life feels overwhelming.
I take a strengths-based, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and self-psychology approach to therapy and coaching.
What does that mean?
It means I:
Recognize and build on what’s already working in your life
Use self-psychology to strengthen your sense of self through empathy, insight, and emotional connection
Incorporate CBT techniques to help you identify unhelpful thought patterns and build practical, sustainable strategies for change
My style is relatable and easygoing, and I strive to create a collaborative, supportive space where you feel safe, heard, and empowered to move forward. Whether you're looking for tools, clarity, or just someone who gets it—I'm here to help you make meaningful, lasting change.
I live in Minneapolis, MN with my husband, our two daughters, and our dog. As a family, we love spending time outside—skiing, hiking, and camping whenever we can. Nature is one of my/our favorite ways to recharge and reconnect.
